Blantyre is a city in the Shire Highlands, in southern Malawi. It adjoins the town of Limbe and is known for its British colonial architecture and nearby parks and reserves. This is Malawi’s largest conurbation with a population of over half a million people. It is the centre of Malawi’s industry and commerce with many businesses being based here. It is named after David Livingstone’s birthplace in Scotland! Chileka International Airport is an airport located 16 km from Blantyre’s city centre.
